“Should I Stay or Should I Go” Solo Exhibition @ Old Crow Gallery : Oakland : CA
That’s right, on July 14th at 8pm I will be unveiling my latest solo exhibition at my favorite gallery to work with of all time, Old Crow in beautiful Oakland, California. As it would be, my studio is currently right down the street, so I have a week to create an amazing installation in the space, and I have to say the work I have created for this show thus far is the most advanced and best yet in my opinion. I have been working hard for the past five months, even with a month of opening ArtNowNY in Chelsea, and all that comes with the life of an artist and designer, this one has really come together in a capacity that I did not foresee. I can’t wait to see how Him Downstairs involve their beautiful performance inside of the installation space, as well as my good friend Grizzly Grimace performing as a guest. Lastly a great friend of mine named Alex Morris died recently, and I have a sound piece in the show that involves him in a dialogue that will be heard for a month while the show is up. I am honored, and grateful to have one of his last recordings in my show and his memory will live on in my art until the day I too pass and join him in the next life. This show is dedicated to Alex “Rhymscheme” Morris RIP, we love and miss you and will forever be with you. -John Felix Arnold III 07/02/2012 Also check out http://oldcrowtattoo.com
